It's National Kissing Day today in the UK, and according to the official website, their aim is that everybody should get at least one kiss today.

What a good idea! Not only is it far too rare that we take the time in this country to show signs of affection, but according to the professionals, smacking a big wet one on somebody has serious health benefits too – from boosting your immune system to stress relief, stopping anxiety and even helping you to keep your youthful looks!

But today isn't just about getting passionate with your lover (or somebody elses!), there are many situations in which a kiss is appropriate. Love is the most obvious, and the number one cause for a tonsil tickling, but as a species we also kiss to say goodbye to each other, to show gratefulness, or as a greeting. However compared to our European cousins we are pretty near the bottom of the league table when it comes to kisses.

We tend to go for the single cheek plant if we're greeting somebody here in Blighty where as if you hop over to Europe a single kiss is much rarer. Belgium go for a mono-kiss if you are around the same age as the other person, but if they are 10 years older or more it is a sign of respect to give 3 kisses. The Germans are pretty much as stuffy as us Brits and only kiss if it is a close friend or family member but tend to opt for a nice firm handshake.

Austria, Spain, Scandinavia and Italy all go for the 2 kiss system one on each cheek, and in Spain it is strictly right cheek first, but Italy has no set rule which apparently leads to many a collision!

In the Netherlands they've upped the anti to 3 kisses, and you must begin and end on the right cheek. And in France (the French being the most famous snoggers of them all) it varies from region to region and can be anywhere from a single smacker (rare) right up to a whopping four, but two is the norm here also.

So why are we at Vapourlites so excited about all this kissing? Well we'd like to congratulate all of our customers on making the whole experience much more pleasant for your partners!

Just think back to when you were puffing away on those horrible tubes of foul-smelling tobacco. Naturally you'd become immune to the smell and the taste, but you must have noticed it on other people now that you've moved over to vaping? It smells disgusting, and let's be honest, smokers breathe can be truly off-putting.

Let's face it, who wants to get passionate with a smelly-breathed, yellow toothed, wheezing smoker?

So here's our call to action if you have friends or family still stuck on smoking cigarettes, or if you yourself are still in the habit, it's time to introduce them to vaping and improve their love life! Unlike smoking, electronic cigarettes contain no tobacco and all you are inhaling is a nicotine infused water vapour which doesn't smell, doesn't stain your teeth or fingers and doesn't give you bad breath.

Check out our electronic cigarette starter kits as a perfect introduction to vaping, and they even come in menthol to give you that minty fresh feeling. You'll be much more popular when it comes to a lip-locking, and you'll save bundles of money at the same time which is perfect as you'll probably find yourself going on many more dates once you're not humming of stale smoke any more!
